Our Story

I share this story in hopes of bringing into your life the most incredible creature ever created by God.

A majestic, animated gift to mankind from God, the unbelievable “horse.”

Dreams can come true! All you have to do is have faith and believe. In the heart of Norma Karst, God placed the love of and care of animals, especially the love of horses –but mostly the Arabian horse . She was drawn to their beauty, their intelligence and the heart of that breed; much like herself: loving and spirited. In addition to that, He also introduced into her life, a young man, Steve, who shared that same love of horses and he became her husband. The love they both shared in horses and knowing her lifetime dream of having a place for horses he set into place his desire to make that dream become a reality.

Their unending love affair and their unbelievable love of horses set into place a journey like no other. Ups and downs, good times and times not so easy and a dream with steady faith led their way. Lots of building began; one penny, one nail at a time. Fences going up and a steady growth in there new business was greatly blessed by the ONE really in charge. One stall after another came into existence along with new friends and their horses.

In short, in 1991 Star K was born. (so much more to share). A lifetime dream of a little girl, all grown up became a reality. First came the boarding of horses which led to a riding lessons program and in turn led to their training program that is still intact today. Competition, new experiences, new families, new friends and travel came into existence. Many smiles and tears took place as the Star K family grew and adopted as their motto “Winning With Teamwork”.

Learning is a part of life. Why not make it fun? Horses are therapeutic both physically and mentally. “Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls, they give us hope.” (unknown)
